Students must participate in EACH of their classes DAILY in order to be marked “present/participating” for each class.
Daily participation in each class is defined by EITHER
1. Presence and participation in the live Google Meet lesson for that class period
OR
2. Completion of the daily check-in (teacher discretion) before or during the teacher's class period
If you do not attend the live Google Meet for a class, you must complete the check-in (teacher discretion) by the end of that teacher’s class period in order to be marked “participating” for that class for that day. If you complete the check-in after that class period, you may be counted absent and be required to submit an absence note to Ms. Martinez.
If the daily task for a class is a proctored quiz/test, and you cannot attend Google Meet, your “participation” for the day of the test will be determined by your contacting the teacher before or during the class period of the test to schedule a new time to take the quiz/test.
To have an absence “excused,” the PARENT should email an excuse note to Ms. Martinez within 3 days of the absence. If no parent note is submitted to Ms. Martinez, the absence will be considered “unexcused.” After 3 days, the note cannot be accepted.
If a TEACHER is absent and cannot have a live Google Meet that day, the teacher will post the requirements for attendance on Canvas on or before 8:30 the day of their absence, and students must complete the required task for attendance before or during that teacher’s class period.
