What is Title I, Part A?
Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
Fayette County Public Schools serves all schools and programs that qualify with a free/reduced lunch percentage above 50% on the second Tuesday in January. Each qualifying school and program will receive a Title I allocation for the following school year.
Schools and programs in FCPS receive Title I funds in order to implement a schoolwide program (SWP) model.
