The Principal
Donte Tichenor
Donte Tichenor took the reins at the Success Academy in July 2024 with more than 15 years of experience in education and service to Fayette County Public Schools. Previously, he was principal at Booker T. Washington Elementary since 2020.
Tichenor joined FCPS in 2009 and served in various roles including substitute teacher, paraeducator, and social studies teacher at Lexington Traditional Magnet School. Before becoming principal at Booker T. Washington, he held various leadership roles including academy principal and administrative dean for Bryan Station High School, where he was also selected to lead the Information Technology Academy. Formerly, Tichenor served as dean of students and behavior coach and interventionist at The Learning Center.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky and two master’s degrees from Morehead State University -- one in teaching and one in instructional leadership.
